چکیده
The physiology and the pathology of Central Nervous System (CNS) is very complex, only by understanding it scientific research might develop effective treatments. Neurocognitive Disorders, extremely diffused diseases, have a multifactorial aetiology, in which lipid homeostasis plays an important role, as known. aim this mini-review focus on interesting recently published researches topic, order to put together some pieces puzzle such enormous physiopathology chapter. After brief introduction, we will describe aspects CNS metabolism, then examine conclusions recent articles relating role neurodegeneration. literature has strengthened position well-known “biological agents” – i.e. peroxidation apolipoprotein E4 allele –but also detailed importance new promising diagnostic therapeutic targets.

Update on Lipid Metabolism and Thyroid Disorders
Thyroid hormone plays an important role in the regulation of lipid metabolism. It acts predominantly through its nuclear receptors (thyroid hormone receptor α and β) to regulate the gene expression related to lipid metabolism. Both overt hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism result in abnormalities of lipid profile. However, changes in serum lipid profiles in patients with subclinical hypothyroidi...

متن کاملThe Effect of Amino Acid, Carbohydrate, and Lipid Metabolism Disorders on Eyes
Inherited metabolic disorders (IMDs) are a class of genetic disorders. Each metabolic disorder may have different forms with different age of onset, clinical manifestations, severity, and even type of inheritance. Ideally, a group of different specialists, including ophthalmologists, pediatricians, biochemists, and medical geneticists are needed for the final diagnosis and management of IMDs. B...
متن کاملNeurocognitive dysfunction in mood disorders
There has been considerable interest in the neurocognitive functioning of subjects with mood disorders (Bcardcn ct al., 2001). I "'torn a theoretical viewpoint, the dysfunction provides insight (especially when monitored with fMlll) into the biological underpinnings, for example, structure and pathway integrity, of mood disorders. From a practical viewpoint, neurocognitive dysfunction underpins...
